Hishtil has successfully integrated advanced LED lighting technology in its R&D department to enhance seedling germination, collaborating with HORTIV Megalight to optimize lighting conditions for light-sensitive crops like begonia. Installed three months ago, the dedicated LED compartment has achieved significant results, including improved seedling quality, energy savings of up to 50%, and better space efficiency. The partnership has proven effective in cultivating seedlings at higher densities without overheating, greatly enhancing productivity and uniformity. Following positive proof-of-concept trials, Hishtil is now moving towards semi-commercial production, ensuring higher quality seedlings for future growth.
