Exploring Irondale’s New .6 Million Ruffner Sports Complex for Youth
Irondale is set to unveil its new $8.6 million youth recreation venue, the Ruffner sports Complex, this Saturday at 10 a.m. The grand opening event is free to the public and will kick off with a community softball game featuring city employees, complemented by complimentary food and drinks. The complex, designed specifically for youth sports, boasts three turf fields, playgrounds, picnic pavilions, and more, serving as a key part of the city’s broader redevelopment initiatives that include a new municipal complex and public library. Mayor James Stewart noted that the facility will also support local development, with plans for a beekeeping store nearby and increased activity in the area as youth sports seasons commence.
