A recent study published in the Jurnal Biologi Tropis explored the impact of growing medium and LED light intensity on the growth of cowpea microgreens (Vigna unguiculata L. Walp). Conducted in January and February 2025 in Tasikmalaya City, Indonesia, the research utilized various combinations of rockwool and vermicompost as growth mediums and five different intensities of 6500K white LED light. The results, analyzed using ANOVA and Duncan’s Multiple Range Test, revealed that a light intensity of 5000 lux with rockwool significantly enhanced the fresh weight and germination speed, yielding the best growth outcomes. This investigation highlights the potential for optimizing production conditions for nutrient-rich microgreens.
