Nearly 90 trees along Fayetteville Street in downtown Raleigh are set to receive a bright enhancement with the installation of white LED lights, a project initiated by the Downtown Raleigh Alliance. The lighting aims to improve the aesthetic appeal of the area, encouraging foot traffic, boosting local commerce, and attracting visitors. Installation began recently and is expected to take two weeks. This initiative, funded privately by the business community, aligns with a broader streetscape plan that includes landscaping and pedestrian improvements amidst ongoing revitalization efforts post-COVID-19. An open house is scheduled for June 16 to gather community feedback on the future of Fayetteville Street.
