The city of Foley, Alabama, is set to enhance its skyline with a new initiative called “Light up the Tanks,” in collaboration with Riviera Utilities. The $19,600 project aims to install LED lights on two of the city’s three water towers, a move to restore visibility to Foley’s logo after it was obscured following a repainting. Mayor Ralph Hellmich noted that the new lighting will not only promote the recognizable logo, depicting a sun rising over land and water, but also use less electricity than the previous system. The project reflects Foley’s growth as one of Alabama’s fastest-growing cities and its appeal as a shopping destination near popular coastal areas.
