Ford is recalling approximately 35,328 Lincoln Navigators from the years 2015 to 2017 due to a potential fire risk linked to faulty LED lighting wiring in the exterior mirror assemblies. The recall stems from a defect that may allow the LED logo lamps to short circuit without triggering any alerts, resulting from inadequate adhesion of potting material, which can expose wires to moisture and cause corrosion. Affected vehicle owners will receive notification letters by the end of March and can have dealers disconnect the problematic LED wiring at no cost. Those who previously paid for repairs may also qualify for reimbursement. For further assistance, customers are encouraged to contact Ford customer service.
