As the 9th Asian Winter Games approach, Yabuli, alongside Harbin in Heilongjiang province, is undergoing significant upgrades to host the events sustainably. Organizers have revamped two key venues dedicated to the big air and slopestyle events while ensuring all 13 venues adhere to energy-saving and environmentally friendly standards. Liu Qinghui, from the organizing committee’s environmental protection team, emphasized the commitment to using green energy for heating and low-energy technology for electricity. All competition venues will be powered by renewable energy, and environmentally safe construction materials are being utilized, particularly at the upgraded Harbin Ice hockey stadium. These efforts reflect a broader initiative to minimize the Games’ environmental impact while promoting low-carbon practices.
