Hoover City Council Greenlights Funding and Agreements for Electrical Repairs at Hoover Sports Park East

The Hoover City Council recently approved a significant funding allocation of approximately $3.675 million for electrical repairs at Hoover sports Park East, where lighting has been nonoperational since early 2025 due to detected electrical issues from damaged cables. The council authorized Mayor Frank Brocato to execute agreements with Alabama Power for utility easements and to prepay for power restoration services, alongside amending the 2025 fiscal budget for these repairs. Mayor Brocato emphasized the project’s importance, highlighting safety concerns and the anticipated improvements in the park’s lighting and electrical capacity, ensuring that it can resume hosting evening games. Additionally, the council approved a change order related to a nearby interstate interchange project and authorized Central Alabama Water to install fire hydrants in The Foothills of Blackridge.
