Battistini Vivai has officially opened VitroLeaf, Europe’s largest automated micropropagation laboratory located in Cesena, aimed at advancing in vitro plant growth through innovative lighting solutions in partnership with C-Led. The facility features a state-of-the-art VitroLeaf Tower, an 8-meter tall and 67-meter long room capable of housing up to 3.5 million plantlets, illuminated with tailored LED lighting to optimize growth conditions. Equipped with advanced technology and energy-efficient systems, the laboratory’s goals include producing 24 million plants within five years while ensuring high quality and health of the propagated materials. The opening signals significant advancements in agricultural technology, including a commitment to sustainability with 262 photovoltaic panels on the roof. Battistini and C-Led will also co-sponsor the upcoming national conference on Micropropagation, VitroSOI2024, scheduled for October 14-17, 2024, in Viterbo.
