Ken Davy, owner of Huddersfield Giants, has proposed acquiring The Shay stadium, home to Halifax Panthers and FC Halifax Town, to temporarily relocate the Giants there in 2026 during the construction of a new facility in Huddersfield. This proposal arises as Calderdale Council plans to cease operations at the stadium by April 2025 to cut costs, prompting the need for new management solutions. The council will review two proposals, including one from FC Halifax Town supporters, in a cabinet meeting scheduled for March.
