Illuminate Puketāpapa: A Celebration of Lights

Mount Roskill’s Keith Hay Park has received a significant upgrade with the installation of new LED floodlights, enhancing the lighting quality across its sports fields. This improvement, funded by the Puketāpapa Local Board, aims to provide better light coverage, reduce power consumption, and extend the longevity of the lighting systems. According to Puketāpapa Local Board Chair Ella Kumar, this initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance community facilities, with additional lighting upgrades planned for other local parks in 2024. Auckland United FC Club Manager Adam Salmon highlighted the positive impact of the new lights, stating they greatly improve the training and playing experience for the thousands of active players using the fields. The upgrades not only benefit park users but also promise long-term savings for the Auckland Council through decreased maintenance and energy costs.
