On Monday, the Indian Prairie School District 204 board approved a $2.3 million project to upgrade lighting to LED fixtures at Crone Middle School, Scullen Middle School, and Brookdale Elementary School in Naperville. This initiative, set to commence in the fall, aims to reduce energy costs and secure at least $60,000 in utility rebates, according to Chief School business Official Matthew Shipley. The lighting upgrade follows a previously approved project for several high schools and middle schools, part of a broader capital improvement strategy funded by a $420 million bond referendum passed in November. Additionally, the board approved permits for summer HVAC work, construction management hires for renovations at two high schools, and re-elected board leadership.
