Katy City Council Greenlights Installation of Artificial Turf and Pickleball Courts in City Park
The Katy City Council has unanimously approved a comprehensive renovation project for Katy City Park, set to begin in 2026. Located at 5850 Franz Road, the renovation will feature the installation of artificial turf fields, four pickleball courts, and sports lighting to enhance recreational facilities. Parks and Recreation Director Kevin Browne announced that the design is already complete, with construction expected to finish by summer 2026. The project will also include drainage improvements and site enhancements, though it will not cover parking upgrades or offsite infrastructure improvements. This initiative aims to increase recreational opportunities for residents while addressing critical infrastructure needs.
