Nine clubs from the League of Ireland, including Bohemians, Dundalk, and Finn Harps, have been awarded over €4 million in sports capital grants to support various projects. The funding amounts to a significant 77% increase compared to grants received in 2020. Bohemians secured €485,619 for improvements to their grass playing area, while Dundalk, recently under new ownership, received €454,228 for a new pitch and floodlights. Additional allocations were made to support initiatives such as an artificial pitch for girls’ soccer in Finn Harps, facility upgrades at Sligo Rovers, and the construction of a grassroots Centre of Excellence in Wexford. The announcement highlights ongoing support for Irish football from the Department of Culture.
