LED iBond International A/S has secured a grant of DKK 6.25 million from Denmark’s Energy Technology Development and Demonstration Programme (EUDP) to support the HORTISABER project, which aims to significantly reduce energy consumption in greenhouses and vertical farms. This project will enhance LED iBond’s existing lighting technology by integrating high-efficiency LED panels with advanced sensors and cloud-based controls. Key objectives include achieving up to 71% energy savings compared to traditional lighting systems and projected annual savings of 141,521 MWh in Denmark. The initiative is expected to bolster LED iBond’s competitive edge in the rapidly growing market for sustainable agricultural solutions, with an estimated commercial potential of DKK 600 million by 2030. The project is set to commence in Q3 2025, although the grant is not anticipated to impact the company’s short-term revenue outlook.
