The Falls Supervisors have approved the installation of four 70-foot athletic field lights on Pennsbury High School’s practice soccer field, concluding a lengthy discussion on light spill and glare concerns from neighbors. This decision amends a previous land development plan that already included an eight-lane synthetic track and an artificial turf field. Officials assured that the new lighting would produce “zero light spillover” onto adjacent properties, with lights programmed to turn off by 10 p.m., except during home football games. Despite opposition from some residents, who argue the lighting could transform the practice field into a secondary stadium, school officials clarified that it serves low-attendance sports and is not comparable in scale to the main stadium. Light representatives emphasized that the brightness would be minimal, comparable to less intense lighting than a full moon.
