LG Display has outpaced Samsung in being chosen by the Korean government to develop 60-inch flexible OLED displays as part of the Future Flagship Program, according to The Korea Herald. This initiative aims to stimulate the economy by creating 840,000 jobs and generating $56 billion in exports by 2017. Currently, the largest flexible OLED display stands at just 7.4 inches, indicating significant research and development challenges ahead for the LG-led consortium. If successful, these innovative displays could find applications in commercial spaces such as stores and bus stations.
