Litis Stadium Set for Over $570,000 in Lighting Enhancements Ahead of AFC Women’s Asian World Cup

Litis stadium in Mt Hawthorn is set to undergo crucial upgrades to its floodlighting following the City of Vincent’s decision to contract Stiles Electrical & Communications Services for the project. The company’s quote of $572,079.48, the second lowest among four bids, received the highest assessment score. The upgrade will entail removing six old floodlighting poles and metal halide lamps, as well as installing new poles and LED lighting, which will significantly reduce light spill and improve compliance standards. The outdated lighting, originally installed in 2002, has hindered Floreat Athena football Club from hosting night matches and participating in competitions. With the support of an $800,000 grant from the State Government, this upgrade positions the stadium for potential use as a training site for the upcoming AFC Women’s Asian World Cup in 2026.
