Local Councilman Advocates for Ordinance to Reduce Light Pollution

On April 9, 2025, Palo Alto City Councilman Greer Stone announced that he is leading an initiative to implement a new Dark Sky ordinance aimed at reducing light pollution in the city. “The idea around dark skies is trying to reclaim nighttime for those who are inhabiting in a community,” Stone explained. The proposed regulations will establish guidelines governing the timing and brightness of outdoor lighting, with the goal of enhancing the nighttime environment for residents.
