Local Sports Lighting Innovator Sells Second Business to Leading North American Lighting Firm

M3 Innovation, a sports lighting company founded by Joe Casper and Chris Nolan in Syracuse, has been acquired by Acuity Inc., North America’s largest lighting company. The acquisition, announced by Acuity on Thursday, marks a strategic expansion as M3 joins Acuity Brands Lighting and its products will be integrated into Acuity’s Lithonia and Holophane brands. Casper and Nolan will continue their roles in Syracuse, focusing on innovative lighting solutions for K-12 schools and municipal parks. Notable clients include Hillsborough County Public Schools in Florida and Lord’s Cricket Ground in London. M3 Innovation is Casper’s second successful venture in sports lighting, following the sale of Ephesus Lighting in 2015.
