Mississauga Unveils .2M Sports Facility to Serve Students and the Broader Community

Work is underway at The Woodlands Secondary School in Mississauga, where a new $5.2-million sports field and track are set to transform the outdated facilities. The project, a collaboration between the city and the Peel District School Board, is scheduled for completion in spring 2026. The modern facility will feature a multi-purpose artificial turf field, an eight-lane certified synthetic track, lighting, and seating for spectators, alongside various athletic amenities. Local officials, including Ward 6 Coun. Joe Horneck and Mayor Carolyn Parrish, emphasize the community benefits, noting the importance of enhancing school sports infrastructure while providing valuable public resources.
