New $1.2 Million Pickleball Courts Set to Open South of the Tri-Cities

The Tri-Cities area will soon have a new destination for pickleball enthusiasts, as Hermiston prepares to open the Good Shepherd Pickleball Complex on June 14 at Theater sports Park. The $1.2 million facility, funded by donations and local labor, features ten individually-fenced courts—complete with LED lighting, spectator seating, and a championship court. Notably, it will also offer the only fully accessible wheelchair courts in the Pacific Northwest. Hermiston Parks & Recreation Director Brandon Artz highlighted the collaboration between public and private sectors as a key to bringing this “world-class amenity” to the community. Daily open play will be available from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.
