In a significant boost for local sports, Jindabyne’s JJ Connors Oval has unveiled a new LED lighting system, thanks to a $170,000 investment from the Albanese Government. Member for Eden-Monaro, Kristy McBain, inaugurated the upgraded lights, fulfilling her 2022 election promise and enhancing training and competition conditions for the Jindabyne Bushpigs Rugby Union Club, along with other local sporting groups. The new infrastructure addresses previous safety concerns and accommodates evening activities, particularly benefiting summer touch football and winter rugby seasons. Funded through both the Investing in our Communities Program and the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program, the lighting upgrade is seen as a vital improvement for the community, with local leaders expressing gratitude for the collaborative efforts that made it possible.
