Recent research highlights perovskite’s potential as an innovative material in photovoltaic technology, presenting a more efficient and cost-effective alternative to traditional silicon. Conducted at the Canadian Light Source, a team of researchers discovered that applying pressure to a special type of perovskite can enhance its properties, notably increasing its photoluminescence and enabling color tuning from green to red. This transformation could lead to advancements in LED lighting applications. Notably, the study revealed that under significant pressure, the material exhibited improved light handling and unique structural behavior, defying typical responses observed in similar materials. These findings have been published in the journal Advanced Optical Materials.
