Russian LED manufacturer Optogan has partnered with Ledison Patan Ltd to establish a new sales office in Kocaeli, Turkey, aiming to capitalize on the projected hundreds of millions of euros market for solid-state lighting in the region within the next two years. Ove Sörensen, Optogan’s senior director of sales and business development, highlighted Turkey’s strategic location as a bridge between Europe and Asia, along with its robust labor force and significant population growth, as key factors for anticipated strong demand, particularly in retrofit lamps. The partnership will also target various market segments, including street lighting, shop lighting, and hospitality lighting, bolstered by a planned investment of approximately 3.2 million euros in 2012 to develop a distribution network that will extend beyond Turkey to the Middle East and North Africa. Additionally, Optogan is enhancing its European presence with recent agreements in Romania, Greece, and Bulgaria.
