Osram reported a strong performance in the third quarter of fiscal 2015, with adjusted EBITA rising 24% year-over-year to EUR 129 million, resulting in a margin of 9.5%. Revenue increased by 12% to nearly EUR 1.4 billion, buoyed by a weak euro and the acquisition of Clay Paky, though it was nearly flat on a comparable basis. The company announced plans to complete the carve-out of its general lighting lamps business by spring 2016, marking a strategic shift towards connected and smart lighting solutions. CEO Olaf Berlien emphasized the importance of this transition for Osram’s future. Various segments showed mixed results, with significant revenue growth in LED Lamps Systems and stable performance in Opto Semiconductors, while declines were noted in Classic Lamps Ballasts and Luminaires & Solutions. Osram remains committed to its fiscal outlook, expecting revenues similar to 2014 and maintaining a dividend of €0.90 per share.
