Philips Projects Indian LED Lighting Market Will Reach 8 Million

Philips Electronics India forecasts that the Indian LED lighting market will grow from $101 million in 2011 to $478 million by 2015. During a recent showcase of the Light Next interactive lighting experience center, Nirupam Sahay, president of Philips Lighting, attributed the anticipated growth to decreasing LED prices, government investments in energy-efficient lighting, and favorable return on investment (ROI). He also highlighted that Philips holds a dominant position in this sector, commanding a 30 percent market share in the domestic lighting market.
