Pickering Brook sports Club has unveiled brand-new LED field lights, a significant $366,600 upgrade that will enhance safety and extend playing hours for members. The installation, which provides an average of 150 lux across the field, fulfills a long-standing request for improved lighting, facilitating evening training and community events, including drone training. Club chairperson Fred Van Elswyk noted the increasing membership since 2020, emphasizing the positive impact on mental health and community connection. City of Kalamunda Mayor Margaret Thomas praised the community’s enthusiastic response, highlighting plans for similar lighting upgrades in other local parks. The project was a collaborative effort between the club, local government, and various sports organizations.
