Enrique Razon Jr.’s Prime Electric Holdings Inc. (PHI) has announced significant power rate reductions for its utility units—More Power in Iloilo City, Negros Power, and Bohol Light. Customers in Bohol Light will see a rollback of 75 centavos per kilowatt-hour (kWh), equating to approximately P150 savings for an average household consuming 200 kWh. More Electric and Power Corporation in Iloilo City will benefit from a 61-centavo reduction per kWh, leading to about P122 in savings, while Central Negros customers will enjoy a 55-centavo cut, lowering their rates to P11.14 per kWh and saving around P110 monthly. These decreases, attributed to favorable economic factors like lower Wholesale Electricity Spot Market costs, position PHI’s utilities among the most affordable in the Visayas. CEO Roel Castro emphasized the company’s commitment to passing savings directly to consumers, enhancing community welfare while continuing infrastructure improvements and reliable service.
