Major renovations are underway at Stead Park in Corio, as Development Victoria moves forward with the redevelopment of its hockey facilities. The project has reached a significant milestone with the launch of an Expression of Interest (EOI) process, inviting contractors to bid on delivering a new pavilion and an upgraded hockey pitch. These enhancements aim to bolster Stead Park’s status as a premier hockey venue while simultaneously boosting the local economy by creating jobs and fostering community engagement through local supplier involvement. The planned pavilion will feature modern amenities, including change rooms, a canteen, and a social space, while upgrades to the western pitch will include improved lighting and drainage systems to support national-level events. Additional accessibility improvements, such as new parking and a dedicated access road, will enhance the experience for players and spectators alike.
