Quantum Computing, Robotics, and Innovative Light Design Take Center Stage at ‘8 from BUT’ Exhibition

Brno University of Technology recently hosted the annual competition “8 from BUT,” where students showcased their best bachelor’s theses. The event required participants to explain their topics in just ten minutes, fostering clarity and engagement. Sára Jobranová, a computer science student, won first place for her exceptional presentation on quantum circuit simulation, which has been recognized for its innovation at the upcoming ICCAD 2024 conference. Tomáš Janoušek, focusing on low-cost robotics, claimed second place, while Andrej Ilič presented an innovative pendant light design to earn third. The audience award went to civil engineering student Michal Grund for his forward-thinking building design project. All participants received scholarships, and special recognition went to the top presenters, highlighting the diverse talents within the university’s faculties.
