Revamped Donovan Stadium at Murnane Field Unveiled Following Extensive 15-Month Renovation

Oneida County and City of Utica officials, alongside local baseball teams, celebrated the completion of a $3.3 million renovation of Donovan stadium at Murnane Field, which began in March 2024 and took nearly 15 months to finish. The upgrades include a new synthetic turf field, improved drainage, lighting, and safety features, enhancing the stadium’s capacity to host games year-round despite weather changes. Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente Jr. touted the improvements as a major asset for the community, expecting increased participation in local baseball leagues and the potential to attract tournaments. The first game on the new field is scheduled for June 11, marking the start of renewed activity at this historic venue.
