On June 2, the City of Santa Barbara will commence the highly anticipated Dwight Murphy Field Renovation Project, transforming the park across from the Santa Barbara Zoo. This project, bolstered by a $5 million donation from Ty Warner, will introduce Santa Barbara’s first all-abilities playground, featuring a multi-story treehouse, inclusive swings, and musical play areas. Additionally, the updated park will include a multi-sport field, an expanded outdoor fitness area, and new walking paths. Expected to reopen in spring 2027, the renovations aim to enhance community recreational spaces.
