Rugby Care Centre, a family-owned dementia and residential care home in Rugby, has undergone significant renovations to improve energy efficiency and resident comfort, thanks to a £44,000 grant from Warwickshire County Council facilitated by the Warwickshire business Energy Advice Service (WBEAS). Under the guidance of Coventry and Warwickshire Growth Hub Account Manager Adam Plumb, the centre implemented upgrades including a new boiler, double-glazed windows and doors, and LED lighting, resulting in annual savings of £11,286 and a reduction of 25 tonnes of CO2 emissions. These improvements have made the environment warmer and brighter for residents, who have expressed their satisfaction at recent meetings. Local suppliers managed the upgrades with minimal disruption, reflecting the centre’s commitment to providing a home-like atmosphere. Plumb encourages other businesses to inquire about eligible energy audits before the programme concludes in March, highlighting the tangible benefits for both operations and sustainability.
