Seoul Semiconductor and Local Authorities Collaborate to Enhance Tunnel Safety

Seoul Semiconductor is enhancing safety in the South Korean capital by partnering with the Seoul Metropolitan Government to implement advanced LED lighting solutions in tunnels and underpasses. On Sunday, the company signed a “Standard Safety Design Agreement” to supply high-visibility LED lights optimized for emergency situations, such as fires and blackouts. The initial installation will occur in the Hongjimun, Jeongneung, and Guryong tunnels, with plans for further expansion to other projects as the city grows its tunnel infrastructure. Choi In-kyu, Director of Design Policy, emphasized the importance of citizen safety amidst increasing tunnel facilities. As a leading global player in the LED sector, Seoul Semiconductor, which holds over 18,000 patents, aims to broaden this safety initiative nationwide.
