Taiwanese Research Group Unveils OLED Lighting Technology Focused on Eye Safety
A research team from National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) in Taiwan has announced that their innovative OLED lighting technology, designed to mimic the soft glow of candlelight, is now ready for commercial production. Led by Dr. Jwo-Huei Jou, the team collaborated with the Electronic and Optoelectronic System Research Laboratories at ITRI and WiseChip Semiconductor to develop this low color temperature OLED, which emits light below 2000K. This breakthrough could have significant applications in medical and healthcare lighting, as it offers a softer light source that minimizes blue light exposure, reducing potential damage to the human eye and promoting healthier lighting environments.
