tennis on the Bellarine Peninsula has received a significant upgrade with the unveiling of two new courts at Barwon Heads and a new pavilion at Leopold. The Barwon Heads Tennis Club, funded by a $275,000 contribution from the Victorian government, now features synthetic grass courts and competition-standard LED sports lighting, enhancing playing conditions for its 160 members and the broader community. The upgrade, celebrated in a ceremony attended by local officials, is expected to foster growth in tennis participation and local competitions. Simultaneously, the City of Greater Geelong marked the opening of a new pavilion at Leopold Tennis Club, a project jointly funded by $1 million from the state government and $720,000 from the local council, further promoting community engagement in sports.
