Texas A&M is planning to enhance Kyle Field with new LED lights featuring special effects ahead of the 2025 college football season. According to a recent request for qualifications document from the university’s Division of Finance and business Services, the new lighting system will include dimming and glare controls, as well as the ability to display both white and color-changing options. The project aims to provide programming capabilities for light shows during gameday, with vendor proposals due by January 17. Texas A&M intends to award the project by April and complete the installation by late July, in time for the season opener against UTSA on August 30. Aggie athletics director Trev Alberts emphasized the commitment to enhancing the gameday experience for fans, while acknowledging the long-standing debate among supporters about the addition of LED lights at the stadium. Comparatively, only three other teams in the Southeastern Conference have yet to implement similar lighting upgrades.
