Townsville Sports Complex Receives Exciting Funding Increase

The Crisafulli Government has allocated $4 million for upgrades to the Townsville sports Precinct, which will include the installation of a cooling system in its multi-purpose indoor courts and upgraded LED field lighting. This investment is part of a larger $52 million initiative aimed at enhancing state-owned Sport and Recreation Venues over four years, addressing a decade of neglect by the previous Labor government. Minister for Sport Tim Mander emphasized that these upgrades will make the venue more appealing for visiting teams, particularly for para-sports, while also supporting local community activities. The Townsville Sports Precinct is anticipated to play a significant role in the upcoming 2032 events, thereby ensuring it remains a vital resource for athletes and the community for years to come.
