Toyota Issues Recall for 443,000 Tundra and Tundra Hybrid Trucks Due to Reverse Light Issue

In a recent discussion on the ‘Barron’s Roundtable,’ panelists analyzed Toyota’s stock reaching an all-time high, while also addressing the slowdown of electric vehicle (EV) sales affecting Ford and General Motors. Amidst this backdrop, Toyota announced a recall of over 443,000 Tundra and Tundra Hybrid trucks due to a defect in the reverse lights that could lead to reduced visibility for drivers and other road users. The issue stems from a multi-layer vent patch in the reverse light assemblies that may degrade over time, allowing moisture to enter and potentially corrode the internal components. Toyota plans to notify affected owners between June 30 and July 14, and will provide free replacements for the faulty assemblies. Additionally, Volvo has announced a separate recall affecting over 450,000 vehicles due to issues with backup cameras.
